I prefer Airbnbs to hotels, but with the service and cleaning it’s so much more expensive that I usually choose the hotel for that reason. If it’s a longer stay, I would still definitely choose the Airbnb
The fees really add up these days! Airbnbs used to almost always be better value, but that doesn't even feel like the case these days. I feel for Airbnb hosts (having also run Airbnbs in the past) because they're usually not even passing on the full cost of the cleaning—house cleaners in vacation towns are a *hot* commodity. In the mountain town where we have a (quite small) cabin, I can't get anyone to clean for under $250.
